us with 5 kids

My sister Elise was visiting her in-laws in Ontario a couple weeks ago. They had tickets to go see Hamilton in LA and asked if we would come down and watch their boys while the went. Of course we said yes! It was a little crazy and at one point Rhett mentioned this would be life with 5 kids. Maybe we will be done at 3 ;) haha

It was a lot of fun to see them! Laurel loved seeing her boys, especially Gavin. They are 6 days apart in age so we call them the twins in the family.

^^ a guy down the street had quite the fancy Halloween decorations and the kids loved it!

They are getting ready to move up to Northern Idaho so this was the last time we will probably get to see them for a while. It was a quick visit but I am glad we got to see them at all before they move!

^^ don't mind the sleepiness.... it was a rough night for our girls!

valentine's day picks - my little girlfriends

the best part of having girls really is dressing them up. if i could have their wardrobe i would be in heaven. any excuse to dress them up and have them match is the best. so bring on all the holidays!

seven months - sisters

i seriously can't believe that Blake is already 7 month! people are just now having babies and in my mind I think 'oh yeah they are the same age as blake' but no.... she is 7 months. maybe I feel like she is still a newborn because she is still in our bed. or maybe I'm just wishing she was still that little and I'm in denial that she is sitting, and eating and practicing crawling. whatever it is time needs to slow down!

sunday and sisters

because sunday's are the best. and having matching sisters makes it even better.

big sister laurel babe

my sister elizabeth brought laurel back about an hour after blake was born. this was honestly wthat i was most nervous about. i really didn't know how laurel would react.
she came into the room and really wanted nothing to do with me or blake. i was kinda sad, but i couldn't really blame her. i was still hooked up to all kinda of machines and she just wanted her dad. she is a daddy's girl through and through.
they hung out for a little while and she finally gave me a hug and a kiss. then beth took her home.
the next day when laurel came to the hospital she was more herself. she wanted to see the baby but not touch her. and she wanted to come and snuggle with me, so i was happy about that! she left for nap time and when she came back after she was obsessed with blake! she wanted to hold her (kinda) and wanted to touch her and look at her.
smitten. completely smitten.
i knew this family of 4 things was going to be good.
