weekend wonders

another week has gone by. rhett and i are both struggling from the crab flu... thanks whole30! but hopefully it should be getting better this week. fingers crossed. oh and the contract rhett was working on got extended so no overtime! woohoo!

this week:
we ended up staying in a lot more this week. it was super windy at the beginning of the week. like 35-60 mile and hour winds. yikes. so we stayed in. laurel got a new strider bike! we have been wanting to get her one for a long time and finally got it this week. she is very unsure about it.... but we are optimistic she will get the hang of it soon.

the whole30 is still kicking my trash. but now instead of wanting all the sugar, i just really want some yogurt and granola, and rhett keeps asking for a bowl or cereal and milk. so the things we take for granted... but hey, we did the first 7 days with no slip up! so i would call that a win.
we made a trip down to lancaster to get the oil changed. it literally took 2.5 hours... seriously guys, lets get our act together. but we had fun walking around. day dreaming about cars. that was probably only me hahaha. and after we went to costco and winco to stock up on some good food.
i taught in young womens on sunday. we talked about how our bodies are like temples. i challenged all the girls to treat their bodies like the temple they want to get married in. because they are all so beautiful inside and out and have some much worth. i love my calling and these girls are really so amazing. they make the lessons and activities.
the silly babes:
laurel wanted to paint one day so i took her clothes off and got her all set up to paint. but painting the paper wasn't good enough at one point so she decided to paint herself. i was getting the water ready to take a bath and she decided that blake needed some body paint too. 🙈blake was not too impressed. laurel wanted to get ready with me and got into my make up. she decided to put some mascara on herself. she come over to me and said 'look mom i pretty'. she makes me laugh, i told her to go show dad so she ran down the hallway 'dad! nitri! look! look at my eyes!'. she woke up saturday morning and i had forgotten to sweep up some puffs from night night before so she sees them on the floor and says 'on no! its messy. BLAKE!' i about died laughing. we haven't see trolls yet, but we have watched the trailer about a milion times. she will be playing and say 'no no get me trolls no get me' or 'hold my hand trolls' and the latest was that she needed to go on a hike to find the trolls 😂

blakey tried puffs and yogurt bites for the first time this week. and now she thinks she needs to get all the food all the time. she is seriously so close to crawling. rhett was helping her and moving her legs and she had the biggest smile on her face. if there is anything new or different that she is any where close to she will wiggle and move and arch her back till she can get it. it really makes holding her hard. she is literally the biggest mama's girl. she could careless if i am in the room if she has something is she playing with or doing something but if i leave she will just sit there and cry the biggest tears known to mankind. literally. and the second i am back or holding her she will start giggling and smiling away. this girl is going to give me a run for my money.
upcoming adventures:
i don't think we really have to much going on this week. just going to try and survive till this carb flu is gone. valentine's day is tuesday, so maybe we will go out and see a movie or something. but that might have to wait till this weekend.

the weather is awesome today and i am hoping to get outside more and really get laurel riding her new strider. hopefully we can get past the fear this week!
happy thoughts:
this was a quote i shared in my lesson and it was so good.

“Of all the creations of the Almighty, there is none more beautiful, none more inspiring than a lovely daughter of God who walks in virtue with an understanding of why she should do so, who honors and respects her body as a thing sacred and divine, who cultivates her mind and constantly enlarges the horizon of her understanding, who nurtures her spirit with everlasting truth” (“Understanding Our Divine Nature,” Liahona, Feb. 2002, 24; “Our Responsibility to Our Young Women,” Ensign, Sept. 1988, 11).
have a happy week!
